World’s First Pickleball Stadium Opens in Fort Lauderdale

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Fort Lauderdale has made history with the opening of the world’s first dedicated pickleball stadium, The Fort, located just north of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
A Premier Facility
Spanning nine acres within the 93-acre Snyder Park, The Fort offers:
- 43 pickleball courts, including 14 weatherproof ones
- A lakeside entertainment complex
- Dining, retail, and recreational amenities, including volleyball, paddleboarding, and a game yard with live music
- A 4,000 sq. ft. event center, luxury suites, golf simulators, and a dart room
Community Impact
The Fort is more than just a sports venue. According to a media release, it will host fundraising events and provide pickleball equipment and training to all Fort Lauderdale public schools. The facility also boasts a 2,500 sq. ft. Pro Shopand aims to create over 100 jobs, boosting the local economy.
Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis praised the collaboration between public and private sectors, stating that it aligns with the city’s vision of being a world-class destination for living, working, and leisure.
Opening Events
The Fort had a soft opening in mid-January 2025, with its grand opening scheduled for April 2024. It’s expected to become a centerpiece of the local community and a magnet for pickleball enthusiasts worldwide.
