Hurricane Irma may have left as quickly as she came, but she leaves behind her reminder of the immense power she held
Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Hurricane Irma covered the A1A in sand, in one of the most powerful storms South Florida has seen in recent years. Crews were on Ocean Hwy. early Monday morning cleaning up the tons of sand that covered the road.
It took four, front-end loaders to handle the amount of sand that was brought up from the storm surge. Officials said that there is so much wet sand on A1A that it will take a full week to remove it all, even with workers putting in overtime.
