Parts of Broward County are still under a water advisory, and are urged to boil their water before drinking

Broward County, Florida – Parts of Broward County are still under a water advisory following Hurricane Irma.

The affected areas are primarily:
Hollywood
Pembroke Pines
Miramar
West Park
Dania Beach

Broward Mayor Barbara Sharief, at a news conference at the county Emergency Operations Center, sought to reassure the public that the vast majority of the water supply is safe. “Our water supply is great,” she said.

Officials state that the order primarily applies to water used for drinking, and food preparation. Residents are safe to shower, but should try to keep water out of their mouth and eyes.

Bringing your water to a rolling boil for a minute will make it safe for consumption.
