Stricter Rules in Place for Spring Break 2025

As Spring Break 2025 approaches, Fort Lauderdale officials are implementing stricter measures to control crowds, maintain order, and ensure public safety. Starting February 23 through April 12, new rules are in place to curb rowdy behavior in high-traffic areas, especially along the beaches.

More Police, More Patrols, and a Curfew Crackdown

To enforce these new regulations, Fort Lauderdale police will be out in full force, ensuring visitors follow the rules. Here’s what’s changing:

  • Daily beach cleanups at 5:30 a.m.
  • Increased police presence in entertainment districts from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
  • Beach patrols from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Expect a zero-tolerance approach to public intoxication, underage drinking, and disruptive behavior. Fort Lauderdale officials are sending a clear message—this is not the place for a lawless spring break free-for-all. (City of Fort Lauderdale)

Local Businesses Enforce Stricter Entry Rules

Even local venues are tightening the reins. The Wharf Fort Lauderdale, for example, is now requiring guests with out-of-state IDs to be at least 23 years old to enter. The move is designed to curb excessive partying and keep the venue’s atmosphere more controlled and enjoyable for regular patrons.

Spring Breakers—Know Before You Go

Fort Lauderdale isn’t banning Spring Break, but they are redefining it. These new regulations are part of a broader effort to keep the city safe and enjoyable for both visitors and residents.

Before heading down for fun in the sun, be sure to check the local laws to avoid getting hit with fines—or worse, an unexpected ride in a police cruiser. (WFLA News)
