Several Halloween festivities are still taking place, including the ever-popular pumpkin patches; however, they may be a little harder to find this year. Here are a few we found in Broward and Palm Beach Counties.
City of Parkland -Flick or Treat Halloween Drive-Thru
Candy and treats, and pumpkin giveaways. The Drive-in movie presents “Hotel Transylvania.” Parkland residents only. Proof of residency required. Friday, October 30. Halloween activities at 5:00 p.m. and movie at 7:00 p.m.
Parkridge Church
The pumpkin sale at Parkridge Church, at 5600 Coral Ridge Drive, is a community favorite, and proceeds go towards their student ministry for their mission trips.
Residents can stop by for a pumpkin and a photo-op Monday through Friday, from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. On days off of school and early release days, the patch will open at 11:30 a.m.
Broward Health Coral Springs Event
A veritable autumn fest and pumpkin extravaganza are planned at Broward Health Coral Springs, with the pumpkins being served up as a drive-thru.
The family-friendly event features attractions and live music, up and down what’s being touted as Pumpkin Patch Lane. The kids won’t want to miss safe-in-your-seat spectacles, like a fire truck with Sparky, ambulance, pet therapy dogs, and superheroes waving at you as you drive by. Coconut Creek Drive ‘N Treat
This event is a drive-thru Halloween themed event at Sabal Pines Park that families will enjoy. It will be held on Friday, October 30, and they encourage kids to dress up in costumes and masks, roll down your window, stick out your Coconut Creek promo bag and yell “Trick or Treat!”
The cost to register is $10 per car. Each car will be given a promotional bag that will be filled with candy at each stop. There are limited spots available and a maximum of 15 spots per time slot. Available times are every half-hour increment from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. They don’t make it easy to register. You have to register for a WebTrac Account. Try calling the Recreation Complex at 954-956-1580. The event is located at Sabal Pines Park at 5005 NW 39 Avenue.
Monster Splash
Held October 23 – 25, at the Cypress Pool in Coral Springs. Enjoy a Halloween decorated pool deck and two-hour pool sessions while safely dancing to festive Halloween music.
This event is free, and attendees must preregister and include the number of children and adults attending each of the two-hour spooky swim sessions. Space is limited to 80 guests per session—more details on Coral Springs Talk.
Drive-Thru Halloween Haunt
The City of Tamarac Parks and Recreation Department hosts a drive-in spooky movie night, where they’ll be screening Disney’s “The Haunted Mansion” and a Halloween Haunt. The event will be in a drive-thru format, where attendees will drive through the decorated parking lot and collect a bag of treats and crafts.
In addition to collecting candy from their cars’ safety, those who attend will also be greeted by a DJ and spooky characters. It happens Friday, October 23, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Tamarac Sports Complex, located at 9901 NW 77 Street. For more information, call 954-597-3674.
Trick or Trick Story Walk
Stroll through the park and enjoy a free interactive reading of “Evelyn Del Ray is Moving Away.” Free book and candy bag while supplies last. Saturday, October 31, from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Please maintain social distancing. Water’s Edge Park 7508 NW 61st Street Tamarac.
Animal EDventure Park
For something a little different this year, Animal EDventure Park, located in West Boynton, offers a safe, spooky safari tour and socially distanced pumpkin patch by reservation only, Wednesdays through Sundays until November 1.
During the Spooky Safari Tour, animals, like zebras, sloths, lemur,s, and otters, will be brought to the car window, and each vehicle will have its own private patch to choose pumpkins from. The tours were developed to bring in lost revenue from the temporary closure of the animal parks, and proceeds will go towards the housing, care, and feeding of the animals. Haunted Drive at Tree Top Park
Benefitting the Museum of Discovery and Science, the Haunted Drive at Tree Top Park is a Family-Friendly Drive-Thru event through November 1. Go before dark with young children, and after dark for mature kids. Located at 3900 SW 100th Ave, Davie. Tickets are available only online at hauntdrive.com/family.
Bedner Farms
No events planned this year; however, pumpkins will be sold. Located at 381 NE 3rd Ave Delray Beach. Monday-Saturday: 9:00 a.m. -8:00 p.m. Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Trunk or Treat Contactless Drive Thru
Drive-thru Trunk-or-Treat Halloween celebration from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29 at The Salvation Army, 100 SW 9th Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. School-appropriate costumes are welcome. The event is free to attend, but donations are welcome. To register as a sponsor only and/or make a donation visit jackandjillcenter.org/event/trunk-or-treat, even though the event is free to attend so that we can accommodate every guest with Halloween treats. Families with children will enjoy driving by Halloween decorated cars and receive some Halloween goodies and treats!
