Forever Love Puppies, accused of selling sick puppies

Share your love

Forever Love Puppies, Fort Lauderdale Florida

Fort Lauderdale, FloridaForever Love Puppies and Grooming LLC is a pet dealer with locations in Pembroke Pines, Aventura, and Miami that sells purebred puppies for upward of $2,000 per animal.

There have recently been multiple complaints about the puppies becoming sick after they are purchased by the consumer.

In the last year, 4 people have come forward and sued the puppy dealer. They allege violations of Florida Statute 828.29, commonly known as “the pet lemon law.”

The law states that if a puppy is sold under 4 months old, it must have been checked by a licensed veterinarian, no more than 21 days before the sale of that animal.

Of the four cases against Forever Love Puppies in Broward, only one is still pending. The other three were dismissed in September after the parties entered mediation.

Forever Love Puppies Under Fire for Allegedly Selling Sick Pets in Broward County

Forever Love Puppies, the popular South Florida pet retailer, is facing serious accusations from heartbroken customers who claim they’ve unknowingly purchased sick animals from the company’s Pembroke Pines and Fort Lauderdale locations. Now, Broward County residents are demanding answers and accountability, suggesting the name “Forever Love Puppies” might be slightly misleading—unless “forever love” refers strictly to the endless veterinary bills.

Several customers have accused Forever Love Puppies of selling animals that later developed severe, and sometimes deadly, health conditions. Complaints include severe respiratory infections, congenital defects, and parasites, with veterinary bills spiraling into the thousands of dollars.

One Broward resident, Emily Hartwell, shared her experience: “We fell in love instantly with our new puppy, but within days, our family was at the emergency vet, dealing with pneumonia. That’s not the ‘forever love’ we expected.”

Troubling Track Record Exposed

This isn’t the first time Forever Love Puppies has faced scrutiny. Reports indicate numerous prior complaints have been filed against the retailer with state and local authorities. Despite their claims of sourcing animals responsibly, critics argue the retailer obtains pets from commercial breeders, commonly referred to as puppy mills—places notorious for unethical practices and poor animal welfare conditions.

Animal advocates have long urged residents to adopt from shelters instead of purchasing from pet stores like Forever Love Puppies. Advocates emphasize the abundance of adoptable pets in Broward County shelters, including healthy animals desperately in need of homes.

The recent accusations have reignited scrutiny from Broward County officials and animal rights activists who are now demanding stricter regulations on pet retailers. Several affected customers are reportedly considering legal action against Forever Love Puppies to recover veterinary costs and raise awareness about the alleged mistreatment of animals.

Community Response and Next Steps

In response to growing community concern, Broward County officials have promised increased oversight of pet retailers. “We’re committed to ensuring that pets in our county are treated humanely,” said Broward Commissioner Amanda Steinberg. “Businesses that prioritize profits over animal welfare will not be tolerated.”

Meanwhile, Forever Love Puppies maintains its innocence, stating they comply fully with all regulations and insisting they prioritize animal welfare and responsible breeding practices. Yet, with mounting evidence from distressed pet owners, their defense is facing increased scrutiny.
