Ft. Lauderdale, Florida – Around 4:30 p.m. at 1450 West Sunrise Boulevard, police were alerted to an individual who was displaying abnormal behavior, at an event at Carter Park.
A short time later police discovered that individual in oncoming traffic just on the outskirts of the park on West Sunrise.
Police observed this individual placing themselves and others, in danger
Police attempted to place the individual under arrest, citing the Baker Act. The individual allegedly resisted officers, and after a brief struggle police deployed pepper spray.
The individual was later pronounced dead at the Broward General Medical Center.
