Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Accused Brightline gunman, Joshua Ladson, who shot a woman and child earlier this week has been arrested. Police noted in the arrest that the woman and child were not the intended targets in the attack.
Joshua Ladson, a 32 year old male was taken into custody after witnesses identified him positively. Joshua Ladson is a resident of Plantation, Florida. An arrest warrant was obtained for Joshua Ladson, and he was arrested and is being held on a $100,000 bond. He stands accused of 2 counts of attempted murder.
According to the police report, the incident happened near the Broward Metro Transit Center at 50 NW First St. Police said a third man, identified as Stanley Johnson, age 60 of Lauderhill, gave Ladson the gun that was used in the fight.
When Ladson began to fire he unintentionally struck the boy and the woman. Johnson was also arrested this week and faces two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Police said Johnson confessed to his role in the shooting after being identified by a witness.
The two victims remain in stable condition at Broward Health Center.
