DeSantis is set to ask the Biden administration for emergency funds for recently flooded Fort Lauderdale

DeSantis is expected to ask the president to declare Fort Lauderdale a disaster area due to the flooding that happened there a week ago. If granted, Broward County would be eligible for a variety of loans, and programs that would help people rebuild after the massive amount to damage.

About 1,000 homes and businesses were destroyed after more than 2ft of rain fell in a two day period. Flooding many streets and destroying many properties.

As of the date of this article, the Governor has not asked formally for the support.
