An Homage to H.R. Giger Closing Party
H.R. Giger is one of the most iconic and recognized artists of the 20th century. The Vincent Castiglia Gallery in Fort Lauderdale is currently home to the “Homage to H.R. Giger” exhibit. We invite you to join us for a Closing Party, open to the public, on February 23rd to celebrate this master artist from 6-9pm. Free to attend. Wine and light bites will be served.
With his unique, dark and surreal style, H.R. Giger’s work transports us to a universe full of hybrid mechanical beings, post-apocalyptic landscapes, hidden symbols and monochromatic images that seem to come out of a nightmare.
He is also known for being the father of the most feared space creature of cinema, the monster of the acclaimed film Alien: The Eighth Passenger, which has become one of the most famous elements of popular culture throughout the world. His work in that film made him worthy of the Academy Award for best special effects in 1980. His extensive work covers painting, sculpture, architecture, drawing and industrial design. Deep, enigmatic and versatile, Giger is a clear example that genius can take inspiration from many places, including our deepest fears.
Vincent Castiglia Gallery in Fort Lauderdale is thrilled to offer this exhibition of two of the most enigmatic and fascinating artists of our time, H.R. Giger and Vincent Castiglia, curated by Stephen Romano through February 28, 2023.
The exhibition is Vincent’s Castiglia’s tribute to one of the greatest artists of our time – H.R. Giger, with whom he had a very close artistic relationship. The exhibition is endorsed by The H.R. Giger estate. H.R. Giger’s art will be presented in the main hall of the gallery, while a group of Vincent Castiglia’s paintings will be exhibited in an adjoining gallery.
The closing party on February 23rd is open to the public. A VIP hour will take place from 5-6pm before the event opens at 6.
