Police are looking for a man who tried to lure an 8yr old with candy into his van in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Police are on the lookout today, after an event was reported by an 8 year old girl. Police are now asking the public to be vigilant and help identify the suspect if able.

The incident occurred around 7:45am between the 1400 and 1700 blocks of NE 14th Street, police said in an email statement submitted to CBS 4 news.

The incident was reported at Bennett Elementary School Officials after the girl fled the scene.

Police did not provide an immediate description of the van, or individual, and are asking the public to be on the lookout for strange weirdos prowling our neighborhoods.
