Huizenga’s Mansion in Rio Vista sells for 16 million dollars
Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Pet Supermarket owner, Charles E. West, Jr, has just purchased the mansion for 16.2 million dollars, in Fort Lauderdale’s Rio Vista neighboorhood.
Wayne Huizenga, a serial entrepreneur who founded multiple Fortune 500 companies, including garbage pickup Waste Management, Inc., Blockbuster Video and AutoNation, acquired Tarpon Pointe in 2005, according to property records. He also owned sports teams, including the Miami Dolphins and Florida Panthers.
The bargain is that the home went on the market last August for $26.95 million.
The Rio Vista neighborhood home is known by the name Tarpon Pointe and sits on 1.5 acres on the New River near Colee Hammock Park.
The 18,000 square foot home has eight bedrooms, nine bathrooms and according to the listing, includes a family wing with offices, private kitchen and family room.
