Rick Allen, drummer of Def Leppard was attacked outside his Fort Lauderdale Hotel
According to reports provided by TMZ, Rick Allen who is the drummer of the band Def Leppard, was attacked by a teenager outside of his Fort Lauderdale Hotel on March 13th. He was staying at the lovely Four Seasons when the incident happened.
The drummer is most famously known for being one of the only drummers with 1 arm.
Performing with MÖTLEY CRÜE, the 59 year old drummer and his band are playing at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. While going outside to smoke a cigarette, he was violently attacked by a 19 year old male, from Ohio.
The suspect allegedly ran full force in a crazy manor at Rick Allen. He knocked him backwards, and Allen slammed his head on the ground, causing “injury”.
A woman came out to help during the confirmation, however she was also knocked to the ground. Getting scared she tried to run back into the hotel, when the suspect grabbed her by the hair and dragged her back outside.
The suspect then fled, and went back to a nearby hotel. He apparently damaged multiple vehicles, which lead to police apprehending him.
The suspect was arrested and taken to Broward County Jail on Tuesday after being charged with two counts of battery, four counts of criminal mischief, and abusing an elderly or disabled adult.
