Jury finds ex-BSO officers not guilty in the excessive force case against Delucca Rolle

Fort Lauderdale – In 2019 the use of excessive force against Delucca Rolle by two Broward County police officers was caught on camera. This came at a very sensitive time in racial tensions in South Florida. Deputies Christopher Krickovich and Greg LaCerra were captured on video pepper spraying 15-year-old Delucca Rolle and then smashing his face into the pavement outside a McDonald’s in Tamarac.

This comes 3 years after the take down was captured on video. The Broward Jury has cleared both form deputies Christopher Krickovich and Greg LaCerra of all charges, stating that their use of force was justified given the set of circumstances and chaos.

“The law in the state of Florida is that Chris Krickovich’s actions that day were 100 percent legal [and] 100 percent justifiable,”

Krickovich’s attorney, Jeremy Kroll stated in closing arguments

The BSO fired Krickovich in December 2019. The sheriff’s office confirmed that as of July 25, LaCerra remains on the force.
