Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Students return to classes today via virtual learning due to concerns of Covid-19. Superintendent Robert Runcie says his teachers are ready for the challenging year ahead.

“Our teachers have been engaged in a tremendous amount of training to make sure that the virtual learning experience is going to be different than what we had in the spring,” Runcie stated.

Prior to the first day of school teachers took part in webinars to prepare for virtual learning. Among the topics discussed by leaders where strategies to get kids back into the physical classroom. School supplies have also been a subject of concern, making sure that children have access to virtual courses.

“It is our goal to restart physical schooling, even if it’s in waves, with younger grade levels with fragile children as early as October 3,” Miami-Dade County Public Schools Superintendent Alberto Carvalho said.
