Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Parking rates have increased in some areas of Fort Lauderdale, and some residents are beginning to take notice.
Previously the city charged between $0.50 – $2 per hour, but on July 1st, those parking rates saw a steep rise. The new rates range in zones from $1 -$4 per hour.
The price hike comes at a time when business are already struggling amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
In a statement, a City of Fort Lauderdale spokesperson said “The recent changes to the City’s parking structure established rates that are in line with those of other major cities.”
